Are the leaves actually coasters, or just decoration?

Both. Each leaf is a flat plate with real thickness. Pull it off its stem, lay it flat and stand your cup on it. Assembled in the planter, the four of them read as a houseplant.

How does the leaf come off?

Magnetically. There is a magnet in the hooked tip of each stem and one at the leaf’s notch — the leaf lifts straight off with one hand and clicks back on the same way. The stem stays in the pot.

Do I put the whole stem on the table?

No — only the leaf. The stem never leaves the planter, so the plant still looks like a plant while you are using a coaster.

Will a hot cup of chai mark the leaf or the table?

The leaves are heat and water resistant, so they take a hot cup without warping and keep the ring off your wood.

How many coasters do I get, and what size?

Four, in four different sizes between 7.6 and 9.1 cm wide — a smaller one for a cup, larger ones for a tall glass.

Does it need any care, like a real plant?

None. No light, no water, nothing to drop or wilt. Wipe the leaves with a damp cloth when they need it.
