Nine Millimetres Of Real Craters.

The face is a sculpted topographic relief with about 9 mm of physical depth — you can run a finger into the crater floors. It is opaque, so it is never lit from behind. A concealed warm LED ring in the frame fires inward across the surface, and every crater rim catches that light while every crater floor falls into shadow. The shadows are the product.

Sculpture By Day.

Switched off in daylight it is not a dark screen waiting to be turned on — it is a relief carving, and passing sunlight rakes it the same way the LED does. Printed in PETG and hand-finished smooth, with a black frame around a warm light-grey face.

Do I have to drill into my wall?

One small screw. The back cover has a keyhole slot, so it hangs exactly like a framed photograph — drive a single screw, hook it on, done. There is no bracket to level and no mounting plate to fit.

How is it powered, and where does the cable go?

USB-C. It runs off any ordinary phone adapter or a power bank, so there is no wiring and no electrician — the cable simply drops down the wall to the nearest socket. It is a real cable and we would rather show it than pretend it is not there.

Is this the same as the glowing moon lamps I have seen?

No, and it is deliberately the opposite. Those are small translucent globes lit from inside, which is why they read as toys. SELENE is large, flat to the wall and completely opaque: the craters are sculpted into the surface and a hidden ring lights them from the edge at a grazing angle. You are looking at real shadow, not a glowing shell.

Is it bright enough to light a room?

It is not meant to be. SELENE is ambience — a warm, low, moonlight-level glow that you can leave on and fall asleep facing. If you want a light to read by, keep a reading lamp; this is the thing that makes the wall worth looking at.
